︎SUSANA GUERRERO
is a plastic artist, with a degree in Fine Arts from the Polytechnic University of Valencia and a PhD from the Miguel Hernández University of Elche. He expanded his studies in Greece, Mexico and Germany, places and experiences that marked his work and artistic practice, fully imbuing himself with the spirit of their mythologies, traditions and legends. This coexistence leads him to express himself through the characters and stories that populate his works.
His work is born from experience, from reality and, based on it, he recreates a contemporary mythology that situates, on the same level, the starkest intimate experience, physical experience, the omnipresence of the dream material of dreams, the subconscious, the offering and the magical, combining the visible and the hidden. It is a reformulation of ancient mythologies that, fused together, are inserted into the work together with the personal experience of the sacred, appropriating mythical narratives, traditions and legends, initiation rituals, superstitions or intuitive revelations. From there a new story is born, revisited myths in which nothing has to be as it is said to have been. Basting, stitch by stitch, as a ritual, each material, each shape, each element that gives us its poetic charge and its material and symbolic meaning.
