︎4DSOUND

is a Dutch studio that explores spatial sound as a means of creation. They started this project in 2007, and since then, they have developed integrated hardware and software systems that provide a fully omnidirectional sound environment. These environments enable vivid sonic experiences that blur the lines between the real and the imagined – the world of sound we know and a world beyond.

Building on this process of research, development, and experimentation with spatial sound technology, they have birthed a new way of designing, interpreting, and experiencing sound. 4DSOUND has been at the forefront of some of the most creatively challenging and technically complex projects using spatial sound, ranging from symphonic experiences, with Babarian State Opera, to bio-portable instruments, from interactive theater to kinetic architecture. The Google I/O event in 2019 or the 'Grove' project, by Philip Beesley and the Living Architecture Systems Group at the 17th Venice Biennale are some of his latest projects.
